THE FUTURE

I don’t see myself sitting on a beach doing nothing, which is why I still want to work in the future, although my definition of work will most likely resemble that of a really lazy person (subjective).

I dream of riding my motorcycle all year long, in a nice climate (California, Australia, Spain…), spending a few hours each day thinking about new and better ways of doing the things we do (ideas), perhaps improving millions of peoples lives.

THE PRESENT

I’m currently working on a ton of projects simultaneously. More specifically, things involving cloud computing, high-availability, virtualization, scaling databases, etc. I’m constantly installing, coding, patching, configuring and testing various Open Source Software.

I also work for a large web hosting company who actually owns and operates its datacenters. I do R&D for new products and technologies.

I regularly put my ideas down on paper (Mind maps).

THE PAST

The last 10 years have been spent working in the IT industry.

I’ve been employed at small startups with less than 10 employees, and larger companies with over 500 employees.

I’ve worked as a depanneur (corner store) stock-boy, call center rep, camp counselor, dog walker, babysitter, math tutor, tech support rep, web developer & freelancer, IT consultant, system administrator, network administrator, CEO, and even as a waiter and bartender.

As you can see I’ve constantly placed emphasis on helping and working with people, not just machines.

LIFE

I consider myself an athlete and I’m rather versatile in a number of sports. My favorite ones are: football (american), rollerblading, cycling, snowboarding, basketball, sprinting, hockey, soccer (futbol), and rock climbing.

I’m also a huge fan of traveling to warm locations due to our harsh Montreal winters.
