New business name
Hello to all my readers!
Many things have been going on behind the scenes in the last few weeks. I’ve made many decisions regarding Comma Induced Software, my career choice, freelancing, web development, and life in general.
For starters, I changed my company name to Green Eye Tea™. I’ve decided to focus my efforts on energy-efficiency in the IT industry. Being eco-friendly is something which has always interested me and has always been a part of my life.
Feel free to sign-up to our new blog feed at FeedBurner to learn more about eco-friendly IT solutions. The logo and website http://www.greeneyetea.com are currently being developed and should be ready within a few weeks.
Green Eye Tea™ is not going to be a services company like all my previous ventures. I’ve realized the need to detach myself from the services business for many reasons, but mainly to regain my free-time. It will focus mostly on providing advice, tips, resources and products to help businesses become more eco-friendly.
So what about the job?
I’m still juggling between the same two companies in regards to where I should work. As much as I would love to work at either one of the companies, for various reasons which I will divulge later, certain conditions must be met prior to that. If that’s not the case then I’ll remain self-employed and focus solely on Green Eye Tea™.
On Monday I will post my final decision and more details regarding the two companies where I’ve applied (and interviewed).
What do you think? Am I taking too much time? Indecisive? What about Green Eye Tea™? Feel free to post your comments and suggestions below.
Cheers!

Careers aren’t the kind of thing you take lightly. Take your time and make sure that what you want is the exact fit you want.
Your company has struck a spark in me. In another lifetime I graduated from Environmental Studies, and we try to do what we can.
Best of luck Alex.

I think you have a good idea, Alex. Both in terms of getting away from the service-side of the industry and filling an eco-niche. Back in June, a few of us went back-and-forth about the whole service model. (Sorry if I’ve already linked to that before.)

I think it’s hard to turn a blind eye to the emergence of environmental awareness, especially in the IT industry.
Thanks for the comments Derek & Barry.
Also thanks for providing me with a few more blogs to subscribe to ;)

Hi Alex!
I just wanted to say congrats and good luck! I also recently made the switch to work on my own to start my own eco-friendly event planning firm. I’m sure our paths will cross someday! :)
